Vermont earned its first victory, a home win, beating the Tri-City ValleyCats 5-1 on Saturday.
The Expos (1-4) scored a run in four straight innings beginning in the third. Francisco Plasencia, who was 2-for-4 with an RBI, doubled with one out in the first and scored on Dee Brown's double two batters later.
