Qld: Rescuers search croc-infested river for missing man
Rescuers are searching a crocodile-infested Cape York river for a man believed to havebeen catapaulted into the water in a motor cycle accident.
Cairns District Inspector ROLF STRAATEMEIER says the 36-year-old man was a passengeron a motorcycle which crashed on the Mission River bridge, near Weipa, on Saturday.
The driver of the motorbike was found at the accident site on Saturday night and wasair-lifted to Cairns Base Hospital, where he's in a serious condition.
Local fishermen, volunteers, police from Weipa and Thursday Island are taking part in the search.
Police say the search will also involve a helicopter.
