Asbury Park Press, N.J., Trouble Shooter Column.

Aug. 22--QUESTION: I have $175 in gift certificates for a department store. The store will not honor them because the certificates have expired.

I did not know there was an expiration date. The information is on the back, where I did not look.

--A.P., Berkeley
