SA: Extra 150 university nursing places in SA next year
The South Australian government's announced funding for an extra 150 places for nursingstudents in the state's universities in 2003.
Adelaide University, Flinders University, and the University of South Australia willeach be funded for an extra 50 placements at a total cost of $375,000.
Health Minister LEA STEVENS says the increased funding is aimed at alleviating a chronicshortage of nurses in the state's hospitals.
She says the funding is part of a $2.7 million government nurse recruitment and retentionstrategy.
