WA: WA becoming an even stronger economic engine room
West Australian Premier COLIN BARNETT says the Gorgon gas deal is a great one for WA
.. with the state getting revenue from it for a long time to come.
And PETER KENYON .. from Curtin University .. says it'll give WA greater political
standing nationally .. with Perth poised to become a major hub for internationally recognised
mining technology advancements.
On Tuesday .. PetroChina agreed to buy 50 billion dollars worth of liquefied natural
gas from the yet-to-be developed Gorgon project in Western Australia.
