NSW:Man assaulted, robbed on Sydney train

SYDNEY, Dec 18 AAP - Sydney police are man and a woman who bashed and robbed a passenger
on a suburban train overnight.

The attack on a 22-year-old man occurred around 12.20am (AEDT) on Saturday on a train
between Strathfield and the city.

As the train neared Redfern Station a man and a woman approached the victim and demanded
cash before punching and attempting to choke him.

The pair stole his bag, jumped off the the train at Redfern and were last seen running
east along Lawson Street.

The victim was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with a swollen and bruised eye
plus grazing to his neck and upper body.

Police say the man they are seeking is aged 20 to 25, about 173cm tall with a medium
build. He was clean shaven with short, dark hair.

He was wearing a dark blue cotton short sleeve shirt and light blue denim jeans.

The woman accomplice is described as 18 to 22, about 170cm tall with a heavy build
and brown hair. She was wearing a red button up jacket and tight pink shorts.
